After my trip to Nepal, I asked myself why I had not thought of visiting this country when I was younger and better able to go on long treks into the Himalayan mountains. Instead, at a stage in my life when comfort precedes adventure, I had chosen to go on a trip where I could view the famed mountains from a distance from the vantage points of hotels and room balconies. Even then, the mountain ranges hid from us, playing hide-and-seek daily and succeeding to elude us during all the days that we had spent in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini and Nagakot. Still Nepal was an eye-opener, waking me up to the possibility that good times do not last forever.
